Rockhampton Region
Plan private driveway work, drainage and the public crossover as a complete but separated scope.
Driveway performance depends on preparation, levels, concrete design, reinforcement, joints, curing and how the slab meets the public crossover. Quotes should distinguish new construction, widening and replacement.
Identify demolition, cutting, disposal and material beneath the old pavement.
Cars, caravans, trailers and heavier access can require different project design.
The finished surface should not direct nuisance runoff or block council drainage.
Plain, coloured and exposed finishes add different labour, sealing and repair considerations.
Local planning point
Rockhampton Regional Council requires a Road Reserve Works Permit for vehicle-crossover work in the road reserve. Private driveway work does not remove that separate requirement.
Ask each responding provider to put the proposed scope, assumptions, exclusions and responsibilities in writing. A lower figure is not a saving if it omits preparation, access, disposal, approvals or completion work that another quote includes.
